So much DC... it's like I don't even know you.

Well, maybe--but how do you think I knew you when you first started talking with us? (You're right, I knew you from LOWLIFE and as the "Bill Mantlo of autobiographical comics...")

I only had two of these comics. The 4th World stuff was mystifying to me at the time. I liked Kamandi more.

Fingers crossed Legendary Lynx #1 makes the 1975 list.

I bought that Spider-Man at a drug store and read it while waiting for the bus. Wow, what a shock to the system. I know I bought the Batman and Swamp Thing issues but only recall dteails of the Swmp Thing story (I feel sometimes like I'm the only comic reader to dislike Adams and a good half of O'Neil's stuff I read). The Flash I appear to have totally missed (I loved that series less than you but still loads) I suppose because of newstand issues but will now hunt down. Mister Miracle I did read but I find I have wedding memories but the New Gods stuff apparently went to a temporary file in my brain that got deleted. Probably because I very much disliked what little New Gods I could have been exposed then. In fact Kamandi, the Eternals and Devil Dinosaur were the only Kirby scripted stuff I ended up following. I even gave up buying Captain America during his run and was buying that series and almost everything from DC and Marvel back then.

It's pretty incredible that the issue of Spider-Man actually delivers on its super over-the-top cover! I'd imagine readers expected J. Jonah Jameson to flatline for two minutes then be brought back to life or something.
