Tom, this newsletter is such a treat each week. Thank you. One of my favorites. That DeFalco story is perfect - I could visualize it while reading. Hope all is well.

I want to second Alex and say I really enjoy this newsletter! And I get a real thrill when you answer my questions haha.

So here’s one! I feel like as an editor you must face a lot of last-minute panic. Any particular stories about projects coming right down to the wire, whether they ended in terrific success or spectacular failure?

Total agreement on Better Call Saul and the way it manages to deftly navigate the overarching issue with prequels (i.e., "We know where these characters ultimately end up").

Question, to pivot to comics: What are your thoughts on prequels/stories that re-explore previously explored territory? Obviously there is no shortage of examples from over the decades. If a creator were to pitch that model of story to you, do you have certain hurdles the idea has to clear in order to get the go-ahead?

Tom, thanks for another enjoyable edition of the newsletter! Lots of interesting stuff -- I especially enjoyed the Dave Cockrum artwork. And, I appreciate that you answer "viewer mail" (thanks for answering mine a few weeks ago!).

Which brings me to another question. Since you featured The Marvels #12, I must say that I've been enjoying the series. Kurt's writing has been top-notch, as usual, and Yildiray has been doing a great job with the art. As someone who has dabbled in inking, I have an appreciation for someone who can both pencil and ink a book every month for an extended period of time -- even more so with the level of detail Yildiray puts into his pages. So, I'm disappointed that this is the last issue. I seem to recall the solicitation for #1 saying that it was going to be an ongoing series. My question is simple: what happened?

I really enjoy these newsletters, and I like seeing all these questions from others!

Likewise, your philosophy of editing videos have been pretty neat and insightful listens. In that regard, here’s a question related to editing: What makes an editor’s notes to a creator good or bad? Are any special programs used to put notes over digital/arts scripts?

I’ve seen pictures of old art and scripts marked up with editor’s notes, but in this day and age it seems like editor’s “frightening” red pen is becoming obsolete!
